We were in town for a graduation. We arrived at 4:00 and left for the graduation at 4:15. We returned back to the hotel around 11 and left the next morning by 10. This is the only type of stay that I would recommend this hotel for.
When we walked into the office to check-in, the smell almost knocked us off our feet. After a very quick check-in we walked over to the elevator. It made a loud sound as the door was closing and that was the last time my wife would ride the elevator. We got into our room which was stuffy, but there were windows at the front and back of the room so it aired out. There is a list of rules on the wall when you first walk in that reminded me of my school days. Don’t do this, make sure you do that. My favorite was that you have 5 minutes to report to the front office if you are not satisfied with the room. The room was worn, but seemed to be clean. We then left to go to the graduation (and took the stairs).
After returning from the graduation I noticed a cigarette burn hole on the sheet. The air conditioning was not the best and the bathroom sink was clogged. It was very noisy in the parking lot as it was prom night and there were a lot of kids around. The next morning people were out yelling across the parking lot.
For under $60, the Econo Lodge was a place to sleep and little more. If you are looking for a CHEAP hotel and won’t be in the room much, this may be the place for you. If you are looking for anything more, you might be very disappointed!
