Clean room, but the service is almost nil. I asked for a frying pan on the 1st and 2nd day we stayed, since someone took ours out of the room. It was never replaced by housekeeping even after I asked TWICE. I finally went to Walmart and bought a cheap one. The folks at the desk ignore you until they are good and ready to "help" you and then they are not much help. They certainly do not go the extra mile, but you get what you pay for. I am assuming they are paid minimum wage. Good laundry. Cheap enough. $1 wash and $1 dry. If you are spending a lot of time in Sac, the kitchenette will save you $$ when it comes to eats, and lets face it, cooking your own meal is probably better for you.

I've lived in the Sacramento area for 20 years now, and so I know the town pretty well. My visiting friend from NYC had an early flight, so we decided to see if we could get a reasonably priced hotel near the airport instead of getting up extra early at my house. We found this hotel on hotwire for about $55 with all taxes. I've passed this hotel lots of times, and it looks very nice from the outside. It *is* in the Northgate area, but the "not so nice" neighborhoods are at least a couple of miles away. It's also right next to the freeway, so you can get in and out in a hurry. (It only took us 10 minutes to get to the airport.)

The clerk was a little slow on the uptake, and a couple of the clientelle looked a little questionable, but overall, most of the people we saw looked fine. Also, there were some very nice cars in the parking lot. (The Sacramento Jazz Jubilee had ended earlier in the day, and the hotel was STILL busy.)

The room was a bit older than your average Best Western, but better than a Motel 6. It had a comfortable recliner, full size fridge, microwave, cabinets with cubs and glasses, etc... The TV reception was great, and the bed was VERY comfortable. The clerk asked us if we wanted a room on the freeway side or the backside of the property, and we chose the backside. We were on the first floor, and all the smoking rooms are on the 3rd floor, so there was so tobacco smell whatsoever. I never heard any noise during the night. No sirens, no problems whatsoever.

I normally don't stay in hotels in my hometown, :) but I can say that I was very satasfied with this property. It's a basic hotel, for a very reasonable price. The next time my friend is in town, we'd probably stay here again.

Found this 2* room on Hotwire for $41. Took the leap and was disappointed to find out which hotel I purchased. Hotwire said the room was in South Natomas when actually this hotel was located in Northgate. Did not find many reviews on the web. The reviews I did find were not encouraging. Checked the KCRA's CrimeTracker for the street address. Alot of criminal activity. Went to check it out and found the building rundown. The guest service rep was nice and helpful. She allowed us to check in early. When I went to the room I noticed the room/furniture was old but the room appeared clean. For $41 a 1 night I got what I paid for. At night the area got busy with sirens. Alot of activity from guest in other rooms. Something bad happened in the parking lot. We left the hotel at 4 am.

This is the oldest of the Extended Stay hotels in Sacramento - and it shows! The room we had was smaller than usual, the kitchen unit similar to a Crossland except for the big fridge. While everything was kept clean, furniture and carpets show signs of wear & tear. It's still good enough for one night but for a longer stay I would recommend one of the newer Extended Stay properties. The one in West-Sacramento may be a bit out of the way but it is in great shape.
