Attended a one day conference on this property and made the choice to spend the night on this property instead of the hotel my secretary booked for me. I'VE LEARNED MY LESSON -- JUST FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS MY SECRETARY GIVES ME!
Before I list the issues let me say that the hotel staff were very friendly -- overly friendly. Now, if they could just take all that positive energy and focus on the needs of the property.
So -- check out this list of issues:
1. My bathroom was dirty. There was an empty shampoo bottle left in the shower and hair on the bathroom floor -- should have seen the signs;
2. The pillows and sheets smelled of body odor. My wife told me to take Febreeze and once again, I did not listen.
3. The Internet connect did not work for the first hour -- although I was charged. The staff could not assist me and connected me to a DoubleTree broadband specialist (in another state) who informed me that it was my computer. LOL. After 2 more calls to the front desk, a site engineer came over and told me that they had forgotten to wire this room.
4. It was extremely hot in Sac so I went for ice. The ice machine on my floor was disconnected. I went to the 2nd floor and that machine did not work and so on and so on. The front desk connected me to in room dining and in an hour, I was given a bucket of ice.
5. The property is going thru renovation and the carpet in the common areas an stairwells were filthy.
I did contact the front desk and asked to speak to the manager on duty. This young man said that the room would be comped so we will see. But just in case, I wanted you to have this warning.
Bottom line -- listen to your wife and to your secretary!
