We traveled to Sacto with our family. I called the hotel directly to make reservations, explained our situation completely and asked the desk clerk's advice on how to best serve our needs.
We needed to accomodate a married couple, three boys and one girlfriend. Since the double bedroom suite sleeps six, this was the clerk's first choice. I pointed out that the girlfriend needed her own bed. The clerk then suggested a double suite for the couple and the girlfriend and a studio suite for the boys. I agreed and asked that the rooms be as close as possible. The rooms were reserved. Later, I called back to ask if we could have two studios and was told all the studios were booked. I asked to be put on a waiting list.
The clerk failed to point out that 'as close as possible' meant that we would be two buildings apart. When we arrived at 1:30 am, we had to shuffle clothing between the two locations.
The next morning, I called to ask for a studio. There was no problem moving us to a room nearby. We were charged full price for the two bedroom, even though we were in it for about 6 hours.
That's the bad news. The good is that the rooms were very nice and the grounds well kept. The breakfast was tasty. although the buffet area was very crowded.
The hotel was a little difficult to find as it is set well back from the Main Road and not really visible from the street. There is a tiny sign and you really have to look for it. Overall the location is good and not far from the freeway, once you know where it is.
There are bottles of water in the room, but if you drink them, they cost 2.50 each.
The pool is in the center of the complex and was clean but somewhat small.
