My wife and I stayed here one night, the last of a six day trip to California. I booked the room because it was inexpensive, and we just needed some sleep before leaving from Sacramento Airport in the morning. We came in late at night. The man at the desk was pleasant and helpful. The room was superior to many others I have stayed in for the same price. It was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The proximity of the hotel to I-5 made it an easy 10 minute drive to the airport. If I were visiting Sacramento for several days, I would definitely consider staying at the Vagabond, as it is within walking distance to Old Town Sacramento, the Capitol and other sights.

Based on Trip Advisor reviews, we stayed at the Vagabond Inn on June 6-7. Excellent location if you're visiting Old Sacramento, the riverfront and the CA State RR Museum. Just walk through the parking garage across the street from the hotel and you're there.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. When the desk attendant had trouble finding the "Discover Gold" discount card we read about in the Visitor Guide (ask for it when you check in -- lots of 2-for-1 offers) she went out of her way to find them and had one ready for us when we came by a bit later.

The room was adequate -- not fancy or large -- but we weren't looking for luxury. It was quiet, clean, the bed was comfortable and the TV worked.

The breakfast they offer was more than adequate and the make-it-yourself Belgian waffle was delicious. The breakfast attendant was right on top of keeping everything well stocked and the tables clean. (If you want a bigger breakfast a Denny's is on the same property.)

We were there on a Sunday morning and the drive downtown to see the state capitol was easy, as was finding parking.

We liked the place and would return.

The location was perfect for us, right off the freeway. The hotel is across the street and parking garage to Old Sacramento and across the street from a shopping mall. The front desk clerk was very cordial and helpful. Continental breakfast worked well for us (it included waffles, yogurt, bread for toast, muffins, cereal, juices, and coffee). Would recommend this to anyone not looking for anything upscale.

We got more than we expected for our 2 night stay. The rooms were clean, bed comfortable and a great location. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. And the breakfast was good , with enough choices (and kept very clean by the hard-working woman there). It was a little noisy at times from the traffic, but it was tolerable. We would definitely stay again.
