My husband and I got together with our grown children to re-visit Sacramento, which we hadn't done since their childhood. We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend. The hotel's restaurant has great food. Also, many restaurants and the Arden Fair Mall are nearby. The next time my husband has a business trip in Sacramento, I'll be going with him! And I'm looking forward to another trip to just sit around and enjoy the pool.

Stayed here several years ago and then just this month. Wow! The hotel renovation looks great. Should I say swanky? Trendy? Classy? I was attending a meeting in the hotel and enjoyed my room, the food, and the staff. The restaurant was great, the people were friendly, and there are lots of great restaurants and shopping nearby if you want to go offsite for some R&R.

I will be back. Good job.

  • Liked — Conference Room, Restaurant, Sleeping Room
  • Disliked — Nothing really. Great renovation.

I recently stayed at this newly renovated hotel with my boyfriend. I was a bit adamant when reading the reviews posted for the hotel, but obviously this was based on the hotel's last administration. The reservations lady at the phone was courteous and respectful. She explained the magnificent changes and renovations the hotel was going thru plus she promised that I was going to be surprised with their service and new facelift. And I surely found this Red Lion to be the best place in Sacramento! They were finishing renovations for the lobby and the restaurant area. Their courtyard is very nice and their new lounge, a true gem! The decor is attractive and the staff helpful. We got a renovated room which was simple, but elegantly appointed. The location of the hotel was ideal. It is literally next to the Arden Fair Mall and many famous restaurants! However, if you are feeling like going downtown, it is really easy to get there as the hotel is off the freeway. I will definitely stay here again!

  • Liked — The JB's Lounge and location! Right next to Arden Fair Mall!!!
  • Disliked — They need more hangers in the room.

The hotel was great! I loved the rooms, the colors; the bed was so soft it was better then being at home. I loved the view outside of my room and the restaurant and bar area made it seem like I was eating in Vegas.

  • Liked — The rooms were very clean and everything was new
  • Disliked — Nothing

Hotel was getting a face lift?
Understaffed.
Toilet was dirty-Someone had taken a crap in the toilet and not flushed it?!
Looked as if the maid HAD cleaned the bathroom, other than that.
No one answered for room service and I needed to eat dinner.
No one informed me that the restaurant was closed for renovation and that room service wasn't staffed so non one answered when I called room service.
The operator was good enpough to take my order and said he'd run it to room service. When I called to check on my meal about an hour later I was told that the operator hadn't gotten my room number and they were waiting for me to call back.........so why hadn't anyone tried to call the few guests (very few cars in the parking lot that Tuesday night) to locate the guest who'd ordered a late dinner?
Finally got my dinner at 10:15 pm
Bed was uncomfartable, seemed old and sagging
A bit of mold in shower needed bleaching.
Couldn't sleep well due to swimmiung pool's heater or filter outside the door and turning on and off all night.
And HBO wasn't working, not a big problem on its own but It was just one more thing that wasn't communicated by anyone.....
You get what u pay for, right?
