I stayed three nights at the Hyatt in Sacramento in December of 2007 during a national volleyball officials' convention. After reading some reviews, I was somewhat skeptical about this place, but it redeemed itself.
The hotel, as a whole, was classy and elegant, if slightly showing its age The lobby is very impressive, and I was well treated by all of the staff, especially the folks at the front desk. We ate one meal at the hotel restaurant, and though a bit pricey, the food was delicious. And when my plane travel was changed by bad weather, they were very accommodating to get me settled back at the Hyatt for an extra unexpected night.
My room was fine, if unspectacular. The bed was comfortable, and the table and desk chair were high quality furniture. The bathroom was spacious and had one of those curved shower curtains which prevent the curtain from getting stuck to you while you're showering. I never did figure out the coffee maker, but that's probably just user error.
As always with this sort of business-class hotel, I can't believe that they charge for wireless internet (over $10 for 1 day) or to access the internet in their business center (a flat fee to log-on and then more each minute). Why in the world can I get free wireless at a Super 8 but pay so much at this sort of place?
The location of this hotel is wonderful, directly across the street from a lovely park and the state capitol building. Several restaurants are within very close walking distance, including The Pyramid, which we very much enjoyed (and offers free WiFi).
Overall, I wasn't blown away by anything at this Hyatt, but it was a nice place. I don't think I'd want to pay several hundred dollars per night, but for a good price, I'd be happy to stay here again.
