August 2008. Near 100 degree temperatures in Sacramento.
The Courtyard in the Natomas suburb of Northern Sacramento is near Interstate 5 and off of the Sacramento river. This property
is nestled among office buildings in a office park with mature trees all around. My check in was smooth and welcoming. There is a roomy lobby and breakfast area at the Natomas Courtyard. My room was on the top floor. This being an older property there were just a couple of elevators on opposite ends of the building. The property is a bit dated.

My room was average size Courtyard room with a small love seat.
My room was clean but it was a bit dated, this being older property. There was a mini fridge in the room which was a plus.
There was a television with a smaller amount of cable channels including HBO. The water pressure and temperature were fine.
My bed was comfortable and the room was quiet from outside noise despite the property being just West of Interstate 5. The A/C unit was bit noisy but it did keep the room cool.

I I used the small gym next to the swimming pool. There were two streadmills, eliptical trainer and recumbrent cycle. I used the featured room delivery service. I was average at best and I do not recommend it if you have vehicle. Just down the road along the river is the Tex-Mex chain - Chevys and also interestesting hole-in-the-wall called the Virgin Sturgeon. Which I can recommend as well as Chevys. Also down I-5 is downtown Sacramento with offers many choices.

We played golf in the Capay Valley. the World's largest grower of Organic crops. Over hour's drive West of Sacramento. We played at the Cache Creek Casino & Resort's new golf course called Yocha-De-He. While the surrounding environment is nice, the course is unspectular and othan 3 holes it is not very interesting course set-up. A bit overpriced and rated. The buffet resturant at Cache Creek was good!

The Courtyard Natomas is an option if you're want a property in the Natomas/Airport area but there are other choices: The Fairlfeld Inn, Natomas; which I have rated and recommend and the Hampton Inn, Natomas which I also have rated and recommend. I would recommend the Courtyard if your like brand and can obtain a good rate.

Nice quiet Marriott Courtyard hotel. Very close to Interstate 5 but rarely heard road noise even though my room faced the highway. Friendly staff, reasonable room. Excellent wired Internet. Close to lots of entertainment, restaurants, down town, etc.

  • Liked — Quiet room, comfortable beds, great service, wired Internet
  • Disliked — Nothing - all great.

I stayed here at the end of February this year for two weeks. It was booked through a travel arranger at work and was near my client site.

The good.
1) I found the rooms to be adequate and pretty clean.
2) Really like having the mini-fridge when staying that long to keep soda and a few snacks.
3) It's in a pretty area near the river where there's lots of walking and biking paths.
4) The bed was nice & firm. My colleague found hers too hard but I liked it because it wasn't soft like most.

And now the issues.
1) There was no hot water for about a day & a half. The desk staff kept saying it was almost fixed but I gave up so as not to waste my whole day. Fortunately, I didn't have to work that day.
2) The balcony did have a screen door (something missing from a lot of other places that have a balcony) but it was slightly broken & required a good deal of maneuvering to open & close.
3) Another review on this site said that breakfast was free but it certainly wasn't when I was there. I thought it was very overpriced but the food was OK.
4) The elevator nearest the desk was very unreliable. Sometimes it'd come & sometimes not. One of the housekeeping staff showed me how to jiggle the door so it would go. It was completely out of order for most of the weekend I was there & the staff person said they continually have problems with it.
5) No restaurants or markets in walking distance.

So some good & some bad. I've certainly stayed at worse places but this property could sure use some maintenance.

  • Liked — Nothing really stood out, it was OK.
  • Disliked — Lack of hot water, finicky elevator.

Very warm pool which was nice because it was cold out!

First morning was Easter and breakfast was free, because only cold items. But nobody told us that upon check-in. Second stay, we were coming from another Courtyard we had stayed at for a week and were surprised to find this breakfast cost more (way more--as in full price for kids) and they used canned fruit (instead of fresh--isn't this California?). So, my advice is to skip breakfast here and head over to Starbucks, bagel shop or bakery not far away. Also, the only restaurants they recommend are very expensive. Probably so you don't fret about breakfast costs.

I would probably stay here again, for the pool and easy Interstate access, but eat elsewhere.

My recent stay at the Courtyard Sacramento Airport Natomas was a very pleasant experience. Although it's close to a major interstate freeway one does not realize it because the hotel is surrounded in a woodsy area that muffles all traffic sounds. The bed was very comfy and warm which made it a bit difficult to want to get going in the morning. Wheelchair accessible room was set up well although the sink was placed at a normal height that made it a bit challenging to use. No "free" continental breakfast offered like at other Marriott lodgings although the breakfast buffet had a nice food variety and it was kept warm and fresh. Meal price was worth paying not to have to travel to a local restaurant.

  • Liked — quiet setting
  • Disliked — no "free" continental breakfast like at other Marriott lodgings I've stayed at
