We needed a less expensive alternative to the Hyatt Regency at $150/night so we booked this property for $99/night. Other posters have mentioned $79 but that was rate was not available for our dates.
Tip #1: Ask for a poolside room which is on the interior of the building. Otherwise, you will hear traffic noise from the streets since all 4 sides of the building is adjacent to the street. Although we didn't get street noise, we had Thumper in the room above us but fortunately, we were both on the same schedule. They thumped around as we were getting ready but it's because we were early risers. If we wanted to sleep in, we wouldn't have been able to.
Tip#2: This hotel offers free wireless connection but they have a lock on it which is abnormal. Most places that have locks on the internet usually charge because it asked for a username and password. Well, the guest information book in the room made no reference about free internet. Although we booked online, we couldn't remember because this was one of 6 hotels we were staying at on our CA roadtrip. So by the time we got to this hotel, we couldn't remember their amenities. Anyways, there was mention of free local calls. So we used the phone book and used dial-up into the internet service. Anyhow, when we checked out, we were CHARGED for long distance phone calls! The front desk had very poor customer service because they claimed that we dialed long distance when we showed them the phone book that listed all of the prefixes that were "local calls" from their hotel!!!! I brought up the fact that their in room guest information book had no reference about the amenity. Their response was that there should have been a complete book in the room.
Internet access is Username: bwsutter and Password: sutter100.
Here's the kicker...."It has happened to other guests". I was furious that if it had happened to other guests, why have they not corrected it? They just shrugged and were nonchalant about it. Talking to them was like talking to a brick wall. So if you book this property, remember these 2 tips. Don't let it happen to you!!!
