We have lived in Sacramento, CA for many years and were not familiar with the Inn at Parkside until recently. A friend told us about how nice it was. We stayed in the Tranquility Room and it was aptly named. The bath was very relaxing and the bed was sooo comfortable. The room was tastefully decorated and I loved the ceiling fan. There were 2 beautiful and comfortable chairs and when we turned on the ceiling fan and looked out the window there was a beautiful tree shading us. We felt like we were in a tropical paradise. We were rewarded with a great night's sleep and a breakfast that was outstanding. This was the nicest B and B that I have stayed at. I recommend this place to all ages and it is one of the best kept secrets from the over 50 crowd.

This was my third stay at the Inn at Parkside. I'm not one to gush, but the Inn is fabulous. I travel quite a lot for my company and have to stay in hotels. I get excited when I need to travel to Sacramento, because it means I get to stay at the Inn. at Parkside The buidling is full of history and very well decorated, comfortable and accomodating The service is exceptional...FIVE STARS!!! I love the wine and cheese in the early evening. It is so relaxing to sit in the living room, vistitng with other guests. More importantly, the innkeeper/owner Diane Gorker is extremely gracious. You feel right at home being around her. It seems that Diane's goal is to make you feel at home and she ceratinly accomplishes that in so many ways. I try to also schedule a massage or facial on each trip and have had a wonderful treatment each time. Thank you to Angie, Joy and Kristin. I recomend the Inn for all types, business and pleasure!!!!

  • Liked — The graciousness of the owner.

Spending our first night together as newly weds at The Inn and Spa at Parkside was a truly fantastic experience. All the luxuries one could imagine were provided at the Inn. From the delicious breakfast served in bed to the relaxing massage, The Inn and Spa at Parkside staff was over the top remarkable. My husband and I have lived our whole lives in Sacramento and were ecstatic to find such a treasure in our neighborhood. We strongly recommend The Inn and Spa at Parkside to anyone who is looking for relaxation, comfort and an overall fabulous retreat from the everyday.

We stayed at the Inn at Parkside to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday and we had such a wonderful time. Not only were both buildings beautiful on the outside, they were so tastefully decorated on the inside...put us in a relaxing mood instantly. We were greated graciously and were escorted to our room after getting a nice tour around the beautiful property. It is nestled among a cozy neighborhood full of trees that shower the property with beautiful purple flowers. The room was wonderful, the bed was super comfortable and the shower was a dream! The wine and cheese hour was a really nice touch before our dinner on the town. Breakfast the following morning was wonderful; a fresh-out-of-the-oven homemade muffin preceded fresh fruit and a homemade quiche. Our massages were fantastic...they really knew what they were doing and really listened to our requests/needs. I would definitely recommend The Inn at Parkside to anyone and my husband and I can't wait to go back. What a treat!!

This was our second visit to the inn and I can guarantee it will be our last. We are locals and came here for the experience of relaxing for a night in their jacuzzi. We had a spa tub in our room last time and didn't really need to make use of the jacuzzi, but this time there were no rooms available with spa tubs. Since we knew they had the outdoor jacuzzi, we booked a standard room and looked forward to a night soaking under the stars.

It was a last minute booking so we called the morning of to book the room. There was no mention of the jacuzzi being down. Upon check in, there was still no mention of this seemingly important bit of information. It wasn't until we were walking out to the backyard that the inn keeper informed us the tub was too dirty for use. We were told there was a chance it would be available later in the evening.

When we made our second attempt to venture out back, we were told that the tub still wasn't ready. The inn keeper offered to clean the community spa tub for us upstairs. We reluctantly accepted her offer, but were not very comfortable in the tiny room with the noisy spa jets. We were done in about 20 minutes.

The fact that it was made out to be no big deal is what upsets me most about the situation. I don’t understand why we were not offered any form of compensation; $20 off our next stay, or complimentary champagne and strawberries would have been nice. Instead, I was left feeling like I would rather be at home in my own bed, a mere 10 minutes away, than to have paid good money to sleep in a basic room with a tiny TV and no jacuzzi. What a waste!
