After reading some of the reviews on this site, I was nervous, but I was so enamored by the pics on it's website that I decided to go ahead and book a cheaper room (passion) on a cheaper nite. So glad I did. Staff was helpful and even showed me the more expensive room that I was interested in (maybe a for a future stay?) Rooms were clean and beautiful. Breakfast was in bed (!) and delicious, comparable to other B&B's I've stayed at. Yes, it's expensive, but if you book a last minute special through the site (you can get 30% off if you can be flexible and book late the nite before), it all seems worth it. I would defintely return.

WOW! I just returned from my Mother's Day weekend at the inn and was so impressed. I live in town and never knew this gem was here! When my partner mentioned he wanted to take me to a bed and breakfast next to South Side Park, I was a little skeptical, but once we stepped inside, all I could think was, wow. our room had a jacuzzi bathtub in it so we didn't use the hot tub outside. The next morning, however, we took our breakfast on the patio. After which, we were treated to a couple's massage. On Sunday I got to spend my morning at the Farmer's Market just a block away. The building is located right next to the freeway, so it was a little noisy at night, but after that great massage I was sleeping like a baby.

I just checked out of the inn after a four day stay which was nothing short of wonderful. Beginning with the delicious complementary breakfast served daily at the time and location of you’re choosing and ending with the daily 6:00 pm wine a cheese service, every element of this establishment is a perfect example of relaxed refinement. Located on 6th street I found the walk from the inn to the capital and other downtown locations quick and easy. The staff at the inn were all warm genuine people who did an exemplary job in making sure my needs were met, that I was comfortable, and we invaluable in helping me navigate my way around the city; all of which I did on foot. In short, if you are planning a visit to Sacramento I can think of no better place to hang your hat than at the Inn and Spa at Parkside.

“Awesome Spa !!!”

Inn and Spa at Parkside

What a wonderful and quaint Inn & Spa. My girlfriend and I just celebrated turning 60 and we both experienced the best massage we've ever had -- not only that; the ambiance of the place is incredible and we had the opportunity to view all of the facility and talk with people currently staying there and some who where checking out after a few nights of heaven !!! As soon as we finish our training for the Rock N' Roll Marathon this summer in San Diego we plan on staying there as well -- even though it is in our own back yard, it is a nice getaway place to visit and enjoy the natural beauty of a historic building in the greater downtown area of Sacramento !!! The Inn is a beautiful, historic building in a tree-lined area. We got one of the more inexpensive rooms, as we were just staying one night - but it was still $168. The room "Healing Energy" was pretty but quite small and as others have said, the freeway is really close so we could hear that the whole time. Otherwise it was mostly quiet and relaxing. However the bathroom was extremely tiny with no place to put any toiletries except in the medicine chest. Wasn't thrilled with it.
The breakfast was pretty good, I thought the quiche was a little overcooked though. Good service. We liked the dining room and sitting rooms - lovely.
