“Decent hotel for a business-related stay”

I stayed at this hotel recently on business. For Sacramento, this is a convenient hotel for a business meeting. We had people fly and drive in. For drivers, it's conveniently located off the freeway. For flyers, the hotel offers free shuttle.

The hotel rooms are quite nice with wall mounted flat screen TVs, free internet, and comfortable beds. The hotel has a very Ikea feel to it with modern furnishings. The bathroom door is a little odd as it's a sliding barn door style with no door lock. My biggest oddity is the lack of any dresser drawers. Rather, there are baskets in a low sitting table.

The meeting rooms are functional, though sound proofing may be a little bit of a challenge. Next to our meeting was a very loud meeting making it difficult to hear our meeting at times.

The breakfast is okay...nothing to write home about. IHOP is just across the freeway as is several other restaurants. There is NOTHING except a Walgreen's in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.

Overall, the hotel is worth recommending for a brief business stay. It's definitely not a vacation destination.

I didn't stay in the hotel, but my office had a luncheon in one of the banquet rooms. The hotel doesn't cater their own events and i found that a bit odd. But the food and service provided by the company that does their catering, was excellent. An Affair With Kirk catered the event. The food was served on time and everything that needed to be hot was, and everything that needed to be cold was as well. We had ordered Tri-Tip for our main course. It was refreshing to see that the meat was cooked right outside the hotel banquet room, The smell was awesome. I'm assuming the caterer had brought a grill to the hotel, just to cook for our event. We had a luncheon for 35, i don't know how big the tri-tip was or if it was more than one, but i can tell you it was the best i had. Thank You Four Points, for providing such a well put together luncheon. We will use them again.

I was pleasantly surprised with my stay at this hotel. I wasn't expecting much but had a very good experience at this property. I checked in at 5 PM after a quick flight from Ontario. The entrance to the hotel was a bit tough to figure out due a unique left hand turn lane. Parking was free and there were plenty of spots. The design of the entrance forces one to walk around the Porte Coche to enter if one parks in the front lot.

The lobby entrance is very bright and relatively welcoming. The front desk is set up with two stations as one enters into the hotel. There is a little snack shop off the lobby as well as a computer station. The restaurant/bar is a few steps from the front desk and a straight shot from the entrance.

I was checked in by the manager and my Starwood Perferred Guest card placed me on the fourth floor. This was the SPG floor, which surprised me, since I got my room at a significantly reduced rate. I was very pleased when I opened the door to my room. It was large and well appointed. The room had two extremely comfortable queen beds, a nice size desk, a flat screen tv, coffe maker, and good lighting. I appreciated the free wi-fi as well.

The room does not have a refrigerator nor could the hotel accomodate that request. I am diabetic so I had to rely on an ice bucket to keep my insulin cool. The management should make note of this and buy some refrigerators. In addition, the room only had a shower and not a bath. The shower was large and had great water pressure, but I like taking baths so this was disappointing as well. On the upside, the bathroom amenities were of high quality and as were the towels.

Noise was not much of an issue for me. The hotel is over the flight path from Sacramento Airport and I did hear occassionally hear planes but no car noise at all. I did not hear room doors slam or housekeeping in the morning. The hotel seemed pretty empty. Without any noise, I slept very, very well.

There is a small gym on the first floor with reasonably nice aerobic equiptment that comes with small tv screens. Free weights were available as well to use. There were no towels to dry off the equipment and no staff ever came in to check. They have a small pool and whirlpool outside. It was way too cold and windy for my use, but it did look sufficient.

I did eat dinner in the hotel. The food was mediocre at best and the service from the bartender was much to be desired. He was not customer friendly in any way and spent some of his time chatting on his cell phone. The sandwich I ordered was under ten dollars but I probably would drive somewhere to eat or bring something back to my room. The service made the dining experience pathetic and the food isnt worth being treated unattentively.

I did not eat breakfast at the hotel but did notice it was over ten dollars to eat at their buffet. On a plus side the hotel is close to the airport and to downtown. One needs a car to get downtown but its very close. They offer shuttle service to the airport.

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay. I am not sure I would want to pay rack rates for this property, which I have seen as high as $170.00 but I would stay here again at the discounted rate I got this hotel for. I think its a find in the Natomas area, and only hope more stores/restaurants will be built to offer guests more choices and options for dining.

In addition, I hope the management of this property reads tripadvisor.com and gets rid of the unfriendly bartender and buys some mini-fridges for guests.

This is a new hotel which needs some work. Never mind the walls are paper thin and we had to listen to our neighbors and their TVs, neither of which were especially loud, on both sides of us. The service was inconsistent, front desk personnel couldn't take messages, and the bartender was surly. We had a reservation under a group name (and price) which seemed to confuse the person checking us in. One of the hotel managers was in front of the hotel talking on his cell phone loudly when we checked in. The common bathrooms and eating area were not clean, although our room was. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are well furnished. There is a very nice desk in the room. This is a very basic hotel - when some wear and tear is added to the poor quality of the structure, the stay will be unbearable. It is driving distance convienent to the airport, but you must also drive to dining. I would pick somewhere else next time.

Delta obtained a special rate of $69 +9.50 taxes due to "distress" (unplanned stay). Normally, this rate would only be available with an airline voucher. Walk in rate was $100 and $12 tax.

I used the free shuttle (24 hours) to leave and return to the airport, about 15 minutes. The room was immaculate, spacious, and had a nice high definition TV. The entire facility is no-smoking, and my room smelled clean and fresh.

Be prepared to pay $8 or 12 for a modest breakfast. I walked to Pannera, about a mile over the bridge because I had time to kill and no car. IHOP was also nearby after the walk.
