This hotel is a very basic, entry-level Starwood property. On the plus side, it is new, clean, efficient. On the down side, it is located in the middle of nowhere. It is surrounded by new tract homes, vacant lots, dirt, apartment complexes, and maybe a strip mall. It was kind of hard to figure out where the front entrance to the hotel was because of the way it is laid out from the freeway. There are no surrounding restaurants or places of interest. For that, downtown Sacramento is located about a 10 - 15 minute drive away.

The rooms themselves have an overall "cheap" quality to them. The furniture is basically Ikea hotel furniture, very low quality. It felt like a college dorm room, to be honest with you. The bathrooms are all white fixtures, tiles, walls. It is almost blinding when you walk in. Again, there is an overall cheap quality to the materials used. It had zero warmth or personality.

I reserved my room at this hotel because my usual favorite place to stay in Sacramento, the Embassy Suites at the river front, was booked solid. Looking at all the other options, this seemed like a safe back up. That is what I would recommend this hotel for: if you cannot find availability at a good quality hotel, then the Four Points should be your Plan B or Plan C.

  • Liked — A new, clean property
  • Disliked — Not close to any restaurants, shops, points of interest. Expensive for the overall cheap quality.

My sister actually reserved this hotel as we were attending a sporting event at the Arco Arena which was less than 2 miles away. This hotel was also very close to the airport. Front desk personnel were very friendly and I was able to take a shuttle early in the a.m. to depart for home.

Breakfast is pricey @ $11.00. Hotel has funky apple pie smell. No smoking so that is a bonus.

We asked the front desk for a refrigerator for our room, but they had none.

Bed was very comfortable as were the many pillows. Flat screen T.V. was nice. There is also a Walgreens that you can walk to.

  • Liked — Liked the location. You could just hop on the highway and it was near the airport.
  • Disliked — No refrigerators.

I realized about a week before arriving in Sacto that I would be on nine hours of semi-continuous flights that day with a combined five hours of sitting at various airports. Getting in to California at midnight? I would be toast and would not subject the good citizens of that state to me in a car looking for a hotel on the farside of town at 1 am.

Booked the Four Points.

BRAND new. I mean, I light have been the first guest in the room. Some very cool and moderately artsy furnishings. I dig the giant sliding bathroom door. It was quiet. Amazing clean. Great price.Nice staff. I thought the breakfast was fine. (I have a "thing" for 'Lil Smokey sausages)

This was my first stay at a Four Points, as I have always liked staying at Sheraton, I figured this would be a good budget version. I guess I figured wrong. This is a brand new property and it seems to have a few quirks to work out.
The rooms were good size but featured a noisy air conditioner window unit that came on and off about every fifteen minutes, this accompanied by the road construction outside made for a restless night. The bathroom door would not stay closed, but this turned out to a blessing, as the automatic lights would turn on and off while you were in the shower, or tending to other business.
The hotel chain also prides itself on great tasting pie. Apple pie scent is piped in throughout the hotel, and pie placards are placed in the room enticing you to eat pie. There was just one problem. Pie was not even on the room service menu. And there was no pie to be found downstairs either. Speaking of the downstairs restaurant, no where in Central California has a more un-appetizing breakfast buffet. Everything in the warming plates was old, dried out and cold. The selection of cereals was great, but the hotel was out of milk. The made to order eggs even managed to come out cold and dry. Complaints on the food fell on deaf ears, and in fact ordering anything from the server was an experience as it had to be repeated twice in order for her to understand. All this for a low price of $13 per person. My advice, go down the street to Ikea, order the $1.99 bacon and egg breakfast which comes with free coffee, you'll be much happier. We were.
No one in the hotel asked if everything was ok, or seemed to care. This hotel needs to mature a little more before anyone should stay there.
