This hotel is a very basic, entry-level Starwood property. On the plus side, it is new, clean, efficient. On the down side, it is located in the middle of nowhere. It is surrounded by new tract homes, vacant lots, dirt, apartment complexes, and maybe a strip mall. It was kind of hard to figure out where the front entrance to the hotel was because of the way it is laid out from the freeway. There are no surrounding restaurants or places of interest. For that, downtown Sacramento is located about a 10 - 15 minute drive away.
The rooms themselves have an overall "cheap" quality to them. The furniture is basically Ikea hotel furniture, very low quality. It felt like a college dorm room, to be honest with you. The bathrooms are all white fixtures, tiles, walls. It is almost blinding when you walk in. Again, there is an overall cheap quality to the materials used. It had zero warmth or personality.
I reserved my room at this hotel because my usual favorite place to stay in Sacramento, the Embassy Suites at the river front, was booked solid. Looking at all the other options, this seemed like a safe back up. That is what I would recommend this hotel for: if you cannot find availability at a good quality hotel, then the Four Points should be your Plan B or Plan C.
