I stayed here for one night due to its proximity to California State University SAC (career fair). Check-in was efficient and easy. The bed was extremely comfortable and one of the most sleek bathrooms I've encountered for a bargain basement price of $99 a night. And that figure was directly off their hotel website, no discount sites! I loved the free wireless access.
The frustrating parts: their 'market' just off of the front desk is very sparse; they gave the impression that snacks and sandwiches were available, but I only saw soft drinks, candy and tylenol, that's about it. Also, there was a very long line of people trying to check in and only one person manning the front desk, so I wouldn't have wanted to wait to pay for items even if they had something I wanted. The room guide said there were snack machines on every floor, but this only means soft drinks and ice. I had no change, and my dollar bills were too ratty for the machine to accept. All I wanted was a snack, but I didn't want to bother getting change from the front desk, I didn't want to pay a lot for an appetizer at the on-site restaurant....so....I eventually just gave up and conquered my hunger till the next morning. It wasn't a very big deal, just a chain of events that caused me to go from floor to floor in search of something simple, yet turning into a frustrating task.
But I will say again the rooms were spotless, the linens were soft, the furniture looked new and the color scheme was attractive. I didn't notice any train sounds the entire time I was there, but in all fairness, I travel with earplugs all the time. The best $99 a night place I've ever had the pleasure of staying in!
