The Holiday Inn Express in downtown Sacramento was great. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Comfortable sheets and a lot of good pillows was a plus after driving 7 hours from Los Angeles. Although our room was adjacent to the street, the hotel had amble insulation to block out the street noise.

The TV and desk space was adequate. However, it was not enough to open your laptop and all your paperwork. I ended up working from the bed. WiFi strength was excellent. The hotel also had a printer and a computer in the lobby. There is also an ATM for convenience.

The bathroom was clean, but it has seen better days. There was paint peeling in the bathroom. This was more of an aesthetic issue, than an eyesore.

The breakfast was good. They had eggs, bacon, toast, coffee, bagels, etc. It was sufficient, but a waffle machine would have been nice.

The Holiday Inn Express was no frills, but a great value.

This hotel is in a terrific location in downtown Sacramento close to all the restaurants and nightlife. Half a block to the governers mansion and close to the convention center. The lobby is nice enough and the morning breakfast was included and pretty good. Our bed and bedding were terrific. The rooms are pretty basic and dated and could use some more work . It looks like parts of the room have been updated and parts have not changed since the hotel was built.

We got a great price on this Hotel through Hotwire so for us the hotel was a good value. If I had to pay more then $75 for this place I think I would stay at one of the larger 4 star hotels down the street instead. For a little more you could stay in some luxury.

However for a short stay the Holiday Inn Express location, price and free convenient parking make this a good choice in downtown Sacramento.

This is not a bad choice if you're priced out of better hotels, but little details do indicate that things don't run 100% ship-shape in the hotel. Hot water, for example, wasn't running in my room during half my stay so that I was inconvenienced into showering with cold water. Their high-speed internet connection is nonexistent via wireless. The room wasn't furnished for working (i.e., no desk).
On the plus side, their complimentary breakfast is not bad, and the staff is helpul, even though they do seem somewhat stressed and overworked. The facilities are clean and the hotel itself is located coveniently.

This hotel was okay but not something I would care to stay in any length of time
My Husband and I and our 2 young children stayed here over night when passing through.
It is in a good location right near Arden way where the mall is and some good restraunts
The lobby made one think that it was a very nice hotel but the rooms were a dissapointment, very old.
The hallways smelled old and musty, got in our room and the curtains were a dull white and looked dirty.
We turned the heater on and it was so loud and smelled so bad we just made do without heat that night.
The shower curtain rod had an extra support to hold it to the ceiling and it was coming out of the ceiling.
The beds were very comfortable and the sheets were clean
It was sleepable for one night.
The parking spaces were so close together you couldn't hardly get out of your car if you were able to even fit between the two white lines.
Basically if you are just passing through or on a quick business trip it is okay unless you are just not too picky.
