“Perfect for visiting the convention center!”

This hotel is only minute walk away from the convention center. I stayed there while attending the Key Club Convention in 2008, and the staff remained unannoyed with five thousand screaming kids. It was a wonderful experience, the hotel lobby is beautiful and has a delicious menu that allows you to sit in one of the lobby tables and be served your meal.

The fitness room on the fourth floor is excellent (open all night, I believe), and the pool is also on the fourth floor. The suite rooms are beautiful and spacey, with a large window that looks over downtown Sacramento. Perfect location and beautiful rooms!

This is a very comfortable hotel with very helpful staff. Downtown location means that it isn't cheap but you get what you pay for. A welcome retreat during a stressful business trip. Good location within easy walk of many local attractions. Great views from the upper floor rooms.

“Next time we'll stay at the Hyatt”

The hotel was clean and well located. However, that's about all that was positive about this hotel. You have to pay for parking, which was $15 per night, per car. There is no hot tub. We ordered room service our first night there, and my husband went to get a soda out of the vending machine down the hall. It was empty as were EVERY single vending machine in the hotel. So we had to place another room service order for 2 sodas to drink with our food. They charged us an additional $2.50 room service charge, plus $3.50 per soda, plus gratuity. It was over $10 for 2 Cokes!! When I explained the vending machine problem we were basically told too bad, that the hotel is not responsible for the vending machines. This really irritated me. It was like they didn't care about guest happiness at all.

We won't be returning. We've stayed at the Hyatt in the past and it's much better in every regard.

“Great Stay”

I had a very enjoyable stay at the Sheraton Grand in Sacramento. It's a beautiful hotel with a lovely lobby and friendly staff. The lobby/bar area is warm and welcoming with comphy chairs and free internet access. The bar has a large selection of drinks and was very busy in the evening.

Check-in took just moments, but in case there is a line, there is a large flat screen TV on CNN just above the reception desk. Nice touch.

I booked a club level room, which was on the 25th floor. I requested a quiet location, which was honored as I was all the way down at the end of the hall. The room was, sparkling clean and very large, with a huge desk, flat screen TV, king bed and a delightful window seat with a great view of the city. The bathroom was also large with great smelling Bliss products. In addition to washcloths and towels (only three bath towels??), there was also a nylon puff scrubby thing. That was a nice touch as I use one at home and miss it when I travel. Oh..and other's have complained about the towel quality. I found them to be just fine, a little scratchy but nothing horrible.

The only thing I would do differently next time, would be to skip the Club access. The Club room is only open between 7am-9am and 5pm-8pm. Breakfast consisted of a bland assortment of high fat pastry, whole and sliced unripe fruit, small cereal boxes, juice, water and coffee. Evening snacks were fried cheese, fried spinach pies, veggies and dip, a cheese plate that had no knife and I had to ask for crackers, water, sodas, tea and coffee. Alcohol was not included in the club price and my vodka tonic was $8.00! The club room also had a computer with internet access and a large TV. The one staff person in the evening had no idea how to make mixed drinks. There was no visible staff in the morning. The Club level is really not worth the increased price.

I walked from the hotel to Old Town and highly recommend the Train Museum. The walk goes through some sketchy areas by the court house, but it's completely safe in the day time. I got take-out sushi from Mikuni sushi bar, about a 3 block walk towards downtown. Mikuni is a very loud place, but they have the best quality sushi in the area and have an extensive take-out menu. I felt safe walking there and back after dark. There is also a P.F. Changs right next door to Mikuni.

I highly recommend this hotel and would certainly stay here again.

This hotel is perfect for business. You can access the internet, make a pot of coffee, and there are enough plugs for your computer, cellphone, headset and iPod. The decor is relatively new and contemporary with a nice flat screen TV. The bedding is good and the amenities were once again a special line by Bliss (kudos to Sheraton for developing this line with Bliss!).

The one complaint that I have is the sad condition of the bathroom towels. My colleague had mentioned the towels to me before, but I thought he was just being high maintenance. Unfortunately, he is right--the towels need to be replaced. The bathroom is clean and has a nice style. Combined with the great bath amenities, you should be set for a nice shower. However, the towels are rough, thin and shabby.

Other than that, I am quite happy and it will continue to be my hotel of choice for Sacramento business stays.
