We arrived early and were able to go on the first tour of the day at 9am. We were the only ones on the tour, which was great. The tour guide was fantastic and gave us a lot of history about the building and the California Government.
We were able to see the historic treasuers office, which is set up as it was in 1902. The legislature was not in session on the day we visited so we were able have a good look at each chamber and take photos.
We were also able to see the cuurent Governor's Office complete with CHP guard.
We learnt a lot and this was a very educational but fun visit. It is also free!!
Don't forget to check out the grounds as they are fantastic, and contain many trees and plants, plus many memorials e.g the Firefighters, Vietnam and USS California memorials.
Definatley worth a visit, especially if you are from California.
