Even though I went on the tour on a July mid day, I was very impressed with the Park Ranger who let us rest in the shade of a tree while giving us more information.
There are trees from many states that have been growing there for many years. Also, be sure to see the memorial for our veterans of different wars. Also, I enjoyed the "rose garden" which was a memorial.

Inside the Capitol, the dioramas from each county in the state give you a picture of the state's diversity.

The capitol doesnt have alot to do. I think I have been to the museum once, and it wasnt something i remember. Instead, i like the buidling, just walkinig around it. It has been renovated, and it looks nice. In sacramento there is a law that within a certain space the buildings surrounding the capital must be a certain height or less. They dont want the capitol to be outshined.
But do visit the Capitol parks that surround the capitol. I think the capitol would be a good place for young and old alike. People with a historic or political mind might like the capital museum and building, and children will love running around the beautiful gardens. There are many squirrels. There are also memorials for veterans. Go in early June, its not too hot then, quite pleasant.
