I was looking for things to do in Sacramento, and although I'm not really a car person I thought this might be a good way to kill 30 minutes with my (65 year-old) father.

Almost two hours after arriving, I easily could have stayed longer. The place is totally hidden - and doesn't seem to be marketed well at all - but it's a real gem. A really vast selection of fantastic old cars, with explanations and sets and really friendly, knowledgeable (volunteer) staff who can give you fantastic history and context on the cars.

There are certainly some flashy cars - Rolls Royces and Lambourghinis - but the emphasis is on classic old cars that 'common people' actually owned, which sets it apart from a lot of other car museums which stock only elite stuff.

I really highly recommend this for kids and adults.
