We decided to stay here at the last minute on our way up to Tahoe.

The hotel is located on Howe near the CSU, Sacramento. It's on a busy street and next to a car dealership.

The staff is nice.

The room was neat. A suite with a king bed in the bedroom and a queen bed in the living room with a kitchen.

When we checked into the hotel, we found that the trash cans were still full of garbage.

The rooms were small and there were no free game rentals.

The walls were thin, because we could hear people in the hall way even when we closed our bedroom door.

I would recommend staying at the Embassy Suites in downtown Sacramento or Hallmark Suites in Rancho Cordova instead.

This hotel offers a pay-per-view movies.

We stayed here for one night and loved this property. We stayed in a one bedroom suite and were very happy with the size of the room. It was very clean and comfortable. I worked in the room while my partmer was at a training nearby. The work area in the room was more than sufficient and the free high speed internet was much appreciated. Our room had a wired connection, but a wire was provided. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast had a good selection, but was nothing fancy (cereal, bagels, yogurt, fruit, etc). The staff was very helpful and friendly, even during busy times. Will definitely stay here again.

Due to work, I stayed here on and off for a total of about 6 weeks this past September, October, and December. I really enjoyed my time at Landspur Landing.

Everyone working the front desk was friendly and helpful. I was often greeted by name.

Due to my work hours, I rarely was able to get up on time for the free breakfast. But when I did, the selection was nice.

There are two computers in the lobby with free internet access. There is also a printer available with free printing. Free Wi-Fi is available as well throughout the hotel. My only complaint is that sometimes there is a wait to use the computers. I once waited more than half a hour as someone used the computer to play games.

Free washer and dryer came in handy during my extended stay.

The workout room was adequate with a treadmill, elliptical machine, and exercise bike along with a small selection of dumbells.

The bed was very comfortable. There was always strong water pressure and plenty of hot water. The small kitchenette was convenient. The room could be a bit cleaner but I'm being nit-picky.

I would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend this place for anyone staying in the Sacramento area.

You know there are a number of hotels that entice their clients using a facade. They make claims that on the surface may be true but...fall short in "spirit."
Larkspur, Sacramento is one of these hotels.
Their ad copy reads like they're something better, with "feather beds" but walking into the dimly lit lobby reveals the underbelly of the beast. No better than any other. I'm glad I had the "feather bed" I needed the extra stuffing to bury my head in...I called the desk 2 times complaining of guests practicing their high-school band marching above me till 3AM.
Adding insult to injury, I received no apologies.

“Comfortable, but basic”

Larkspur Landing Hotel

May 23, 2007

We stayed here for 3 nights over a weekend while visiting family. The main reason we chose this hotel was that we needed a separate bedroom with a door. We were traveling with our young son, and he got the living room sofabed. The one bedroom suite fit the bill. Other than that, though, there wasn't much to make this place stand out.

The continental breakfast was the most basic: cranberry and bran muffins, wheat and white bread and bagels, bananas, apples, yogurt, cereal boxes, hard-boiled eggs. The biggest problem was there was only one table to sit at. There were some couches with coffee tables, but those were a little inconvenient for eating. Hotel staff was hit or miss. The clerk who checked us in was very friendly. But the woman we asked for recommendations on family-friendly restaurants was completely unhelpful. BTW, the answer is, head north on Howe Ave. and you'll hit every chain restaurant (Applebee's, Chili's, Friday's, etc). She kept trying to send us to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.

The refrigerator in the room was very noisy. And the AC was difficult to adjust to get a comfortable temperature. On a positive note, the bed was very comfortable and there were a variety of pillow types. The first night we heard stomping from upstairs, but other than that, we didn't hear any outside noises.

All in all, though, it served its purpose of having the family in one hotel room with some privacy between the rooms.
