This is the only negative review from my recent California vacation I felt I needed to write in order to warn others. First of all, this Super 8 is not located in a very pleasant part of Sacramento (mostly industrial and questionable neighborhood, it seemed). Second, it is very, very close to Interstate 5, so there is a huge and constant amount of highway noise. Third, the street it is located on turned out to be some kind of local truck "shortcut" to the expressway, so that ALL NIGHT there was a continual stream of big rigs passing by, all of which had to brake and make a turn immediately outside the motel rooms...so much for a sound sleep! I also had problems the second night with upstairs "neighbors" who clearly were not there to get a good night's rest, so...if you must stay here, you'd be wise to ask for a second floor room. In the morning before leaving, I found a used condom in the parking lot next to my car...enough said! There have to be better places to stay in Sacramento within this price range.

We were looking for a cheap place to stay for two nights in Sacramento and I came across this motel on the site and except for the comment about the traffic, it looked like it would fit our needs (including location, fridge and microwave).

Got there and the front desk staff were very friendly. Walked towards our room and thought, oh my ...it really is noisy here. BUT, got into the room and closed the door and it wasn't bad. I will say, it does appear that trucks (I mean big rigs) drive on the street next to the motel, so it can be noisy from time to time with that. The room was nicely appointed and had what we wanted. It was clean and very nice. They have a small continental breakfast that my husband ate (just pastry, juice machine, coffee, and cereal).

One tip, we got the room for cheaper by calling directly.

Overall, it was nice and for the price we couldn't beat it.

What none of the reviews here tell you is how close to the freeway this hotel is - say half a block! Also, since the hotel is positioned lengthwise on the lot, there is no such thing as a quiet room even if you're not next to the street. The bathroom was a bit moldy too so I'll be looking for someplace else should I ever go back to Sacramento.

Me and my friends went to Sacramento and we stayed at the Super 8 motel. It was our first time in Sacramento so we didnt really know where we were going which didnt really matter because the service we got there was great. They printed out a map and told us the best options for what we wanted to do. The room was great, but most of all I was impressed by the service we got.
