Old Sac: July 18 & 19 Special Events?
Destination Expert   What's this?
for Sonoma

I'm contemplating a day trip to Old Sacramento, probably on Sun. July 19 and am wondering if there are any special events, festivals, etc. taking place that weekend. Nothing shows up on the official site and a random search yields zilch, but I figure there's ALWAYS some special event taking place during a summer weekend in Old Town!

I was just reading today that there are several Abraham Lincoln related museum exhibits going on in Sacramento, they might be interesting if you like history.

The California State Museum in downtown has an exhibit from the Library of Congress called "With Malice Toward None: Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Exhibit".

To go along with it there is an exhibit at the Railroad Museum called "The Rail Splitter and the Railroads: Lincoln, the Union and the Golden State".

The State Capitol Museum has "Our Union Forever: California's Role in the Civil War".
