 Time on my hands

I will be in Sacrameto on or about 8 July 09. Ariving by train [ Amtrak ] very early in the morning. [ 6:30 AM.] Will have about 4 hours to look around. Would like to walk over to Old Sacramento Park. I know this sounds silly but. Map of the aera shows a lot of freeways to go over or under. Can anyone give a walking route to the park ? I cant tell from aerial photos about under passes. Looks like I st. goes under but is it pedestrian friendly ? I just need a pedestrian friendly route from the Amtrak station to the park. Thanks in advance for your help.

From the train station walk out the front doors and to your Left. You want to go to the corner of 5th and I streets. You'll have to cross to the south (opposite side from the train station) of I street and head west (toward the freeways). Once you get to 3rd street you will want to cross back to the north side of I street and continue walking under the freeway. This will take you right up to the side of the California Railroad Museum. It is only a few blocks, an easy walk from the train station.

Google maps now has walking directions (as well as public transit directions) for many places now.

Even easier, I believe you can just walk out the front door of the train station, turn right, walk to the back of the parking lot and there is a pedestrian access directly into Old Sacramento.
