Kal- you can do it either with all buses, or light rail/bus combo.
I believe all bus would be route 15 to route 1, right into the fair oaks area.
Light rail, take the train to Watt/I-80 stattion, then pick up bus route #1 to the Madison/Fair Oaks area.
check the website for day specific hours, not sure when you arrive, some weekend service is lessened or sketchy. good Luck, Dave
Thanks, Dave. Looks like I can bring a bike pretty easily this way. I'm being sent to a workshop at the Steiner college and I'm not familiar with the area. Any recommendations for restaurants/highlights? It looks like a pretty (if upscale) neighborhood...
Slocum House
If it's not the best restaurant in the Sacramento area, it's in the top 3. Sit on the patio unless it's very hot out.
I agree with the Slocum House recco, but I do not get out to Fair Oaks area enough to reccomend much of anything. Check the interactive area of TA for restaurant listings and recco's. The map is moveable, and you will have several places pop up when moving it around. good luck, D
