I remember the first time I eat here! The best Ice Cream In Sacramento! It's so good the portions are huge! The ice cream is fresh, and its usually busy! Excellen Ice Cream! I think they even make their own whip cream! Tasty! My favorite is the black and tan with almonds on top, and caramel souce! more
BEST CRAB SANDWICH IN TOWN. I've been having their crab sandwiches since 1982. Made from fresh, real crab. Very expensive, but worth it. Absolutely delicious. $12.95 last time I was there, for just the crab sandwich. 3 sandwiches, ice creams, drinks, it all adds up to about $70 w/ tip. Might as well go have sushi. After it was revealed that the owners of Leatherby's supported Prop. 8, they got a lot of bad-mouthing from on-line reviewers. However, what they are is a family-run ice cream shop. They are priced above-average, but they certainly give more than generous portions of ice cream. Their soup and sandwiches are average - to be honest most people come here... more
There are other great choices for fantastic ice cream from historic establishments in Sacramento. You can visit, Burr’s, Vic’s, or Gunther’s. My friends wanted to go to The Cheesecake Factory, but I persuaded them to go to Leatherby's.
