This is an elegant restaurant located in Old Sacramento. It is housed in an actual old firehouse. The entrees are always interesting, with offerings of beef, fowl, and seafood. The service is attentive. A very nice touch is a complimentary mini appetizer, compliments of the chef! more
Foods good but a little overrated more
I've only been there once, several years ago...I can still taste the delicious prime rib on my palate. Oy, but it was GOOOOOD!! Not in this single mom's budget. If a date asks where you want to go, say, "The Firehouse". more
This is fine dining in Sacramento. The pancetta-wrapped sea scallops pan seared with fennel-pear chutney, walnut-arugula-risotto croquette and fennel soubise was good but just a touch salty. For dessert, the poached pear pecan tartlet with a warm shortbread crust with bourbon-pecan praline was a fine way to end the meal. I would say the prices are slightly overpriced though. more

Overpriced. Food isn't exactly cutting edge. If you don't like experimentation or innovation, this is a Sacramento tried and true. A landmark for anyone visiting, but not a destination for those of us who live here. The wine list is extensive and renowned. The bathrooms look like Liberace decorated them. more
