Attended a one day conference on this property and made the choice to spend the night on this property instead of the hotel my secretary booked for me. I'VE LEARNED MY LESSON -- JUST FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS MY SECRETARY GIVES ME! Before I list the issues let me say that the hotel staff were very friendly -- overly friendly. Now,... more

Traveled to Sacramento on business for a one night stay in this hotel. For a business traveler this place has a lot going for it. The location is very central and easy to get to. The location is beautiful, for those few minutes of free time one generally has. The hotle is right on the river and you can walk... more

I will follow up after I have stayed here at the end of May. I have to admit the reviews scare me a little and I hope it's not as dirty as everyone has been saying. The price of $50 is pretty great though. Glad I don't have to pay more to find out if it's really awful. More later. more

My wife & I stayed at this property, while relocating to the area. The staff was very accommodating & friendly. They even went out of their way to make sure our stay was as expected. The Cityside grill offered excellent service & meals. In the hotel lobby, there are plans for a renovation to the guestrooms, this will only add... more

I stayed here because it was the venue for a conference. The price negotiated for the conference was very good. The room was good - spacious and well set up. The only thing missing was the fire safety notice that should have been on the back of the door! Coffee maker and everything else was as expected and things were... more

Lucky me, I get to stay at the Doubletree Sacramento a few times a year. That's sarcasm. While it is just baseline acceptable for a basic no frills motel/hotel, it is not on standard for a typical Doubletree. At least you can get the Hilton points. And is not as scary as the Red Lion across the street! As you... more

This is an old dirty hotel. I ended up there through hotwire reservation as it was listed as a 3 1/2 star hotel. Not only this is not a 3 1/2 stars, it is not even a 1 star! I originally asked if I could stay in a room close to the lobby, as their parking looked dark and unsafe.... more

I was put up at this hotel on business and didn't check the reviews because it was a last minute decision to go. The rooms were horrible. When I walked into the room (#542, El Dorado wing) I literally gagged because it smelled musty and like cigarettes. The furniture was from about the 70's, the dresser drawers smelled and the... more

I stayed at this hotel 5 nights for a small national conference that was held there. I've stayed at better places, but also at a lot of places a lot worse. While hte place may be getting old, it was reasonably well maintained and the bed was as comfortable as you're likely to find anywhere. The buildings and rooms are... more

We stayed 2 nights - the first was fine but Saturday night was a nightmare! We were expecting a peaceful nights sleep and an appropriate environment for our children but our room was surrounded by a frat party. Early in the evening we saw people arriving with coolers, cases of beer and even stereos. No one told us that the... more
