We stayed here in May 2007. We arrived late thanks to the Amtrak Zephyr, but the 5 minute walk from the station was well lit and felt safe. We had booked 2 rooms, but only 1 was showing. I booked last minute via the hotel website; got a good rate via my AAA card. Check-in was a breeze; got a room before the 3pm check-in time and nice touch with the basket of apples. I stayed 2 nights in March with a girlfriend and we both thought this hotel was perfect in every way. It is clean, attractive, modern and shopping and tourist attractions are right outside the door within walking distance. We parked with the valet, but ended up never using it. The hotel is at a great location---only one block away from Old Sacramento. Being that close means you can tour the area at night when it is quiet, have a nice dinner at one of the restaurants there and then easily walk back to your hotel room.
